Ongoing
Ongoing services are for those who don’t have the time or desire to manage their financial affairs every day. The Comprehensive Management program is a long-term relationship in which you delegate day-to-day management and financial planning concerns to someone you can trust. You’ll enjoy the security of knowing a professional advisor is monitoring your investments, addressing your unique planning needs and working with your other advisors to move you towards your goals. Fees for this service are based upon a percentage of assets under management starting at 1.0% of financial assets managed and decreasing as portfolio size increases.
Periodic
Period services means you meet with us when you need us. You may need a comprehensive plan addressing all areas of your financial situation. Or you may need to address one or two complex issues. Common concerns include how to be invested or what to do now to meet your retirement goals. After your planning is finished you come back to us for an update when you are ready. Periodic services are invoiced by the hour.
Can you provide an overview of your investment process?
Our Investment Process is based on the belief that a properly diversified portfolio accounts for most of your return. We have a long term investment time horizon and do not try to time the market. We identify a specific asset allocation and will adhere to that as the market changes.
General asset classes include stock, bonds, cash and real estate. Stock categories include U.S., international and emerging market. These are further divided into large and small company growth and large and small company value. Bonds are held in a laddered strategy according to maturity. Investment vehicles include active and passive mutual funds, exchange traded funds, money markets and individual bonds. We believe it important to consider a security’s fees, style purity and tax efficiency. We also evaluate and make recommendations for your retirement plans as part of your investment portfolio.
Our investment process also includes identification of your financial goals, your time horizon and your comfort level with investments. Once these factors are determined, we recommend an asset allocation for your investment portfolio to be maintained over a long time horizon.
Can you provide an overview of your financial planning process?
Our Planning Process is designed to help people realize their financial objectives. For most people the ultimate goal is to become and continue to be financially independent. When people first see us they often have a mix of investments and products acquired over the years. People are unsure whether what they’ve acquired will accomplish their goals. Many people sense that things could be better but because of the complexity today they are not sure how to go about it or what to do.
The planning process begins with a complimentary get-acquainted meeting. This is an opportunity for you to tell us about where you are, where you want to go and for you to learn about our two types of services and fees.
If you determine you want ongoing services an initial meeting is scheduled to review all of your financial information. When we are sure we understand you and your unique situation, we’ll define and implement your investment strategy and prepare and present customized solutions integrating all areas of your financial plan. Once you understand our recommendations and agree, we’ll implement your plan and when necessary work with and coordinate your other trusted advisors. This process occurs over a series of meetings during the first year. All recommendations are presented in writing and can be retained by you for your records.
Once your financial foundation is firmly in place you’ve made a good beginning. Going forward we will continue to advise you and to keep your financial plan fresh and updated in view of fluctuating market conditions, tax laws and changes in your personal situation.
Should you decide that periodic services are best for you we’ll gather and review your financial data and complete your plan according to your needs. We then review our written recommendations with you in one or two meetings. You can then choose to implement your plan on your own or have us help you. To keep you on track you are encouraged to return on an annual basis to refresh your plan.
